Robotaxis are no longer just something out of a movie, but a reality that has already begun to take hold in the United States and China. Waymo has commercialized a fully driverless taxi with no human behind the wheel, and Tesla is also entering the robotaxi market with rapidly advancing capabilities. However, robotaxi adoption comes with practical costs, including high vehicle prices, AI training, sensors, and maintenance. Safety concerns and public distrust of self-driving cars also remain. In South Korea, as we saw with Tada, there are conflicts of interest with the taxi industry, license pricing, and regulatory issues. Nevertheless, with a labor shortage and an aging workforce, robotaxis are hard to avoid in the long run. Finding a solution that doesn't stifle technological advancement and gives existing drivers a fair chance to transition will be key to the success of Korea's robotaxis. #robotaxi #Korean robotaxis #Waymo #Tesla #autonomous taxis #mobilityinnovation #futuretransportation
